What is a MJE?

The MJE (or Young Experts Team) is a group project in which we, as young engineers, will deliver a professional expertise on behalf of a sponsor working in the international development sector. During our fourth year, our main task will be to organize and fund a field mission we would have been awarded by this same sponsor.

The expertise must satisfy the following expectations:

  • A field work period from 4 to 8 weeks abroad.

  • The delivery of a survey about the study.

  • Production of synthetized and relevant data.

  • The mission has to be formalized by a work placement agreement.

We will be supervised by a research professor of our school for the full length of our project (organization phase and field mission).

Welcome on the website of MJE Alania,

in the field of food security.

About us

We are a group of 9 fourth year students at ISTOM, an engineering school in agronomy and international development. Our MJE team (stands for “Mission Jeunes Experts”: Young Experts Mission), Alania, which will be held through our third and fourth year of studies is attached to the association Seeds.

Our polyvalent curriculum at ISTOM focuses on agronomy, social and economic studies. Moreover, the various experiences of each group member provide us with a really large range of skills. Our different backgrounds and portfolio allow us to work as a dynamic and effective team on the people’s auto sufficiency and food safety field.
